A few years ago, I had much the same with a company "IT specialist
manager" who claimed that my use of a Linux laptop was a "security
risk".

I challenged him to access my laptop whilst it was connected to the
network. I then showed him how trivially easy it was to gain access to
anything on the Windows machines on the network (even when using
Windows!).

Suffice to say, he was unable to get any access to the Linux laptop, and
quickly became a Linux convert (he'd used Unix at university) - the
servers were migrated a few months later, and the desktop migration is
currently underway.
