I have a SliMP3 player, original version with just an ethernet port, and
I have it connected to one of these (actually the predecessor, the
WET11B), and it works with no trouble. You can use the bridge in
infrastructure mode if you already have an access point, or (as I do) in
ad-hoc mode, where a pair of bridges can be used to provide a layer 2
connection between different physical ethernet segments.

I can't speak for compatibility with your Belkin kit, but these bridges
definitely do the job, and they even support power-over-ethernet these
days. Some windows setup software is provided, but they can be
configured entirely from Linux by using the embedded web-server - you
just have to set up a static route to the default IP address first.
