Many thanks to all who tried to help with my problem.
Nothing suggested has worked, so I'll have to accept
that the mobo is useless.

I'm responding in one email to reduce the number of
messages.

Firstly, I did have speakers hooked up, but got no beeps.
As the Manual, which I had found and downloaded, made no
mention of beep codes, I assumed this facility was not
available. Additionally, the case I'm using has no small
speaker.

I have both keyboard and mouse connected but the keyboard
lights do not flash under any circumstances.

I've tried all the other suggestions in the replies, but
nothing helps. If the onboard nForce2 Ultra 400 is 'up
the creek', as suggested, then there must be another
problem causing the lack of response by the keyboard.

There seems no point in wasting more time on this.
Annoyingly, it's not worth getting another mobo and using
the CPU as it's Socket A which I understand will soon be
unavailable.
