If you mean printed magazines, the three UK titles are
all good value and cover sufficiently different turf
for them not to really be in competition. I buy Linux
Format (part of a range of computer "Format" titles
produced by the same publisher) more or less without
fail, and it consists of group tests, reviews,
tutorials on more of a basic level, and news. Linux
Magazine bills itself as "the magazine for advanced
Linux know-how", and is content is much more
technical; it's less flashy and is a sister title to a
German Linux magazine; many of its articles seem to be
sourced from mainland Europe and Klaus Knopper is a
regular contributor.

As for Linux User & Developer, this is more about
real-world use of Linux and about open source
political issues than about coding and other technical
issues. The latest has an interview with RMS
(conducted by Rachel Probert) and regular contributors
include Jeremy Allison (Samba) and Eben Moglen (FSF
lawyer).

They all have news and reviews, but the news is often
not news to people who have internet connections and
already know about the developments through reading
about them online.

Hope this is useful,

Matt Smith
