That said, I'd have to say your chances of getting that device working
don't look too hot. Wireless support in Linux is not the easiest or most
consistent of things to get working right now, and USB wireless devices
are more problematic than others. There are some signs of improvement
though, so things should get better.

If you decide to get a different device, I'd say go for the Ralink
chipset based ones. You can even support one of our local vendors on the
list by buying them from here:-

Available in PCI, PCMCIA and USB versions, all guaranteed to work out of
the box on Ubuntu, and probably on most other recent distro's.
