[Gllug] Colour printer problem

Hello,
   I am trying to get a secondhand Minolta/QMS Magicolor2 printer to work.
It was in some redundant RM kit from a school, and came without any other
information. It does do a good test print from the control panel, I have
been able to reconfigure the IP address, and it does reply to a ping, but I
get no other response via the parallel or ethernet ports. A port scan shows
port 35 open but that is all. Is it likely to be running non-standard
software that could prove difficult to replace?
   The QMS website mentions a possible hard disc, multiple ethernet
connections, and lots of memory space, but this looks like a very basic
system.
