[Gllug] ethernet through powerlines

Hi

I'm considering getting a couple of devices like these:
http://www.netgear.co.uk/wallplugged_ethernet_bridge_xe102.php
http://www.netgear.co.uk/wallplugged_ethernet_bridge_xe103.php
ethernet bridges that use pre-existing electrics to network.

Has anyone on the list tried such things? What's the speed like? Any 
latency issues? Any linux issues? (I'm guessing not with the ethernet 
aspect, but Netgear do require windows for using encryption)
