[Gllug] Domain name transfers

I have my eye on a particular domain name. It's currently in the
custody of a domain parking company. However the registration is due
to expire in a few weeks. Is there any way of getting in to register
the domain when it expires, ahead of the renewal that will presumably
be automatically generated by the parking company? I'm wary of
contacting them directly, as I'm sure that once they know someone's
interested, they'll slap a large price tag on it, and I'll be out of
luck.

I'm guessing there isn't an easy way of doing this, as it would
probably lead to no end of cybersquatting problems, but I thought I'd
ask here anyway, in case anyone knows an easy way for me to get the
domain that doesn't involve handing over a large pile of cash.
Obviously I'm prepared to pay a small amount, but realistically, this
is a nice to have vanity domain, rather than something that has
significant value to me (or indeed anyone else).
