[Gllug] Is compiling for i386 on an AMD64 cross-compiling?

I'm potentially going to have access to a pretty powerful Xeon based
computer running 64-bit Debian.  If I want to use it as build engine for
stuff targeted at 32-bit Debian (x86) do I have to jump through a lot of
hoops with cross compilers or do I just specify the target CPU on the
command line?
