Depends where the temperature sensor is. If it's on the core itself, then yes:
the silicon breakdown temperature is around 110-120C.
If it's on the packaging, though, it shouldn't go higher than about 70C.

Is there some BIOS thing you can do to reduce the multiplier used? Certainly on
older motherboards, one could change the bus speed, or the multiplier (or
both).
