   If you do not have a recent backup, you may be able to recover all your
files using a Knoppix CD/DVD and copy everything to another disc, or another
computer via a network connection.
   You may also be able to use a Knoppix disc to re-insert missing files if
you know which are needed.
   You need to boot the computer using the Knoppix disc, and click the
righthand mouse button over the disc icon to adjust the write permissions if
you need to write to a disc.
