I started with a dial-up to Demon when there was very little choice. My
work took me around the country, working any hours on any days, anywhere, at
any notice, and liable to change at any time. I worked with people living
and/or based around the country, but sometimes did not see particular people
for a year or two even when we shared the same base because we were not
there at the same times on the same days. When we did work together, we had
to work as a close team, and often in difficult or cramped conditions. Many
of us have left, but still like to keep in contact.
