I have "upgraded" to the release candidate for Ubuntu 7.10 ("gutsy
gibbon") and amongst the various problems (all fo which suggested to me
that Ubuntu were very wrong to describe the release candidate as suitable
for use by any user) I have are that Open office writer won't opne "until"
it has recovered what it claims is a broken document.

After over an hour trying to recover the document in which it locks up one
of the processor cores at 99% or more, I've given up. It's a big document
(4MB) but surely an hour indicates that it is getting nowhere.

I had this problem before and it just meant i could never use ooo writer
(upgrading to 7.04 fixed that). Nore could I find a way of just saying I
don't want to recover the document.

Any clues anyone?
