While it's true that FOSS is very much not a monoculture, there are
sizeable monocultures within it. For example, if numbers be believed,
there are probably some millions of Ubuntu users. If Linux spreads
further on the desktop is only increases the attraction of what is
essentially a culture of near-monocultures.
