[Gllug] VACANCY: Unix System Administrator

Hi all.

I'm looking for an experienced full time (permanent) UNIX Systems
administrator. The role is supporting and improving our web based
analytics engine, which we host. The product is written in Java. Work
mix is approx 30% break fix support, 10% documentation, and 60%
project/improvement work. Ops team size is currently 3.

Core skills required are:

*	Several years operational experience, ideally in a financial
institution, or with an ITIL-esque service delivery process.
*	Knowledge of best practice for OS/App configuration.
*	Good BASH scripting 
*	Server Hardware/Racking  etc.
*	Self starting personality.
*	Natural documentator (alias 'documentator=person who considers
that the "task" is not complete until it is documented').

*	Redhat/CentOS
*	Apache/Lighttpd
*	JBoss/Tomcat
*	Postgres and SQL admin
*	Puppet/Func 
*	Xen
*	CVS
*	A few years of hosting experience
*	Solid TCP/IP, ideally candidate is happy with Switch
configuration, VLAN's, firewalls  etc. Load balancing experience would
be a bonus.
		
We also use coRAID products and AoE, Continuent Unicluster, OCFS2,
Checkpoint FW-1, Alteon Load balancers, Hyperic HQ Enterprise, plus a
few more I've forgotten.

The company is a privately funded startup, and basically is about
commercialising inhouse developed artificial intelligence algorithms and
knowledge. We're just starting to roll out to some major customers, and
there is a potential snowball effect if the product continues to be well

We're based just by the Oxo tower on the Southbank. 

Salary/package is, of course, dependent on experience. I consider
attitude to be as important as technical skills, so if you're missing a
few areas, it's not a disaster.
