[Gllug] OT - GNU compiler error

Dear John,

Thank you very much indeed.  I had a trailing extern keyword
at the end of my search.h file.  I think it was left over
from a quick cut and paste job.  I should have looked closer
and found it myself.

I'll go through what you say about where such things go and
edit my files accordingly.
