[Gllug] Troff, Eqn, Greek

Dear GLLUGers,

Does anyone still use troff?  I still use the GNU package.

Anyway, in eqn I'm writing "bold alpha", without the quotes
and getting a plain alpha.

Anyone as old as me know how to solve this?
