My theory is that mailing lists are quieter at weekends because people
read and post to mailing lists as a way of avoiding doing work. At the
weekends people have got better things to do.

This breaks down when I consider myself as I don't have any work but
still read mailing lists. I suspect this is because when every day is
a weekend they stop being special..
