Absolutely, and this has just happened to me.  A company in the same
building as my now former employers were advertising for a junior
position at a salary much less than what I was being pad eight years
ago.  But they liked me, liked my CV and we came up with a deal to pay
me what I wanted (and needed for that matter).  I like companies that
can negotiate like that.
