How terrible. Linux just isn't what it used to be. That should have 
involved hours of googling, usenet post and forum searching, at least a 
kernel recompile from source with special patches applied and tinkering 
for hours with arcane config files in /etc.

I'm switching to NetBSD in protest! ;o)
