What problems are they? If you mean problems with lack of implicit 
trust, you simply need to provide the users with your X.509 CA 
certificate or chain to install in their application. You only actually 
need a genuine certificate if you need to demonstrate authenticity to 
anonymous third parties, hence the cost.
