I've used it for an online store. It's a fork of the venerable 
OsCommerce (www.oscommerce.org). It fixed some of the issues with the 
latter but since both are now back under active development there's 
little to choose between them.

ZenCart, like all of its packaged solution brethren suffers from 
over-complexity compared to a home brew. If you're happy with what it 
does out of the box or with the available plugins then you should be 
fine but if you need to customise it to any degree then its complexity 
quickly gets in the way.

It's also a bitch to upgrade. Or it was in 1.2.x. It may have improved 
although I doubt it.
