Similarly, in my BBC days, we were not allowed to take our test tapes on
the tube. When we were sent to an outlying location (Golders Green
Hippodrome, The Paris Theatre, Buckingham Palace, Parliament and so on),
we were always sent by taxi. It was fun telling a taxi driver that you
were going to Buckingham Palace!
