[Gllug] what is causing disk activity ?

But I'm not updating anything on disk .... so why the writes ?

In another thread there was discussion on if GLUUG should have lectures.
Topics such as this I would really like, ie: how things work, eg: lvm,
kernel mirroring, journaling file systems - from the point of view
of on disk structures, etc. It would might make my use of these things
more effective.
