I would be interested in such talks. I have never had exposure to these
kind of setups and it would be interesting to find out more about them.

I would have to travel into London whenever the event was on - whether
it is an evening or weekend event is of no signficance to me at the
moment.

However another poster has already said more could be dealt with at the
weekends than in an evening session. Perhaps a series of evening
sessions on one theme would help counter that. However, if there is
setup and tear down time to take into account then sometimes there is
more time at the weekend than in the evening. When I was working it
could be difficult to get away during the week even in the evenings.

What about OpenSource applications - perhaps a series on stuff like the
GIMP, Inkscape, Blender and other desktop apps ? Depends if we are
interested in them from a user or developer point of view I guess but it
might be good to see what people can achieve. I'm almost tempted to
suggest an art competition using Open Source Software. This isn't
entirely Linux based these days so we might feel it is inappropriate for
a Linux User Group to run such a thing.

Regards

Lesley
