Man pages are only useful if you already understand the Unix mentality and
happen to already know the command exists and roughly what it does. Even us
grizzled old-timers sometimes have a hard time remembering the name of some
obscure command, and man -k doesn't always help.
It's even worse if it's a GNU utility, thanks to their hard-on for info
pages. The man page is a stub that tells you to do "info foo", and on doing
that will bring up the same stub man page again. Thanks, guys.
