I have not yet found any installed list of monitor capabilities. Perhaps
the monitor is checked for any embedded information, but this does not work
with older monitors. I feel that the ideal for me would be an optional
additional local fall-back file for any monitor specifications not found
during any other search. This would allow the system to work normally if
details were discovered, but offer a few local default options.
