Be careful with low-end Dells - I bought an Inspiron 530 mini-tower in
January and the Foxconn motherboard has various compatibility problems
with Linux; in particular, the wired network doesn't work consistently.
I have often found that it doesn't always connect to my router, and I
have to disable and re-install the kernel module to get it to work (and
sometimes even reboot the machine). It then doesn't give any other
problems, but I wouldn't recommend it to a newbie.
