Well, there are train services, which are a passable substitute for  
Tubes, even if they usually require a travelcard instead of Oyster PAYG.

I just start to get twitchy if a role turns out to be in Zone 6 or  
beyond, or involves faffing around with busses. ("There's probably no  
bus. Now stop worrying, and enjoy your walk.")
