It is also worth explaining to Lucy that any replies we make (and by
that I mean all of GLLUG) are technical replies to quite an
interesting question. We might all learn something from the replies.

Sadly though, on many mailing lists when there is a smidgeon of a
suggestion of a shortcoming in Linux there is a flurry of responses.
So stick with it - you've asked an interesting question and it is up
to the rest of us to reply politely.
