Second hit for a search on CFD on jobs.ac.uk
http://www.jobs.ac.uk/jobs/FJ334/Research_Associate_in_CFD_Atmospheric_Flows_Model_Development/
Salary between 28 to 30K at Loughborough, which is a pretty good university.
That is a three year contract - so you're maybe going to be out of
work with a young family in three years if the grant funding doesn't
keep going, and here are the skills/qualifications:
"The prospective candidate will have a PhD in developing numerical
methods, ideally for Geophysical flows or CFD, or equivalent
experience and an honours degree in either Geophysics, Applied
Mathematics, Physics, Fluid Mechanics, Engineering or Computer
Science. Relevant experience in programming and numerical methods for
PDEs is essential. A background in parallel computing is desirable. "
So, as I've said upthread, offering 25 to 28K for the same skills in a
permanent job is not beyond the bounds of reason, though 30K plus a
bit of London weighting would be nicer.
