Such prices are trivial to business, this is not an issue either way, 
the issue is how much any server can take, if a server can only take 
16G, why waste 1/2Gig on tmp when you'd rather have your application 
using that... or more likely if you have an ESX farm with 32 or 64G base 
tins, you want to run more vms and improve consolidation rather than 
allocating away precious memory for /tmp which is probably lightly used 
anyway.
