There are many ways, if the victim is "running" Windows.  The funniest
are the crafted bits of html that abuse Internet Explorer directly.  MS
still swear that this isn't possible, but it's demonstrated time and
again - each newly discovered flaw results in a flood of malware trying
to use it.  

The MS "patch Tuesday" does little or nothing to mitigate the problem -
every Windows machine is vulnerable until the patch is issued, and the
vast majority of the users won't patch immediately because the patches
have a bad reputation for breaking things...
