[Gllug] Why can't I mount a hidden /.evolution directory through NFS?

The error message on running mount -a on the laptop is:

mount.nfs: mount to NFS server '192.168.0.7:/home/malcolm/' failed: RPC
Error: Program not registered

Huh?
