You can actually use the streamed version of iPlayer on Linux; all you  
need is to install the Flash player (the 64-bit version can be a bit  
flaky though, and cut out whenever a Flash instance starts or stops in  
another browser window or tab, but the iPlayer will actually remember  
where you were and will resume).
