The ONLY "support" that's available from MS is to repeatedly recommend
re-installation!  

I've just had a "high-up" in the organisation I work for whine about MS
"support".  His company laptop got screwed (malware as usual), and there
were no software disks supplied with it, no "rescue" partition -
nothing.  

MS told him that his only option was to re-install Windows and all his
applications.  He asked if that would delete all his work.  "Of course
it won't" he was told....  He borrowed "install" disks from his son.
You can guess the results.  If he was sufficiently pointy-haired, he
would have stuck in the ceiling...
