Which install CD of Ubuntu are you using?

The server CD (and maybe also the alternative CD) defaults
to a text based install which has the same partition setup
tool that Debian uses and supports LVM and RAID.

As to Fedora not supporting LVM in text installer, that
does sounds daft to the point of being a bug. Could just
an oversight, or maybe not implemented due to time or
space limitions. Best way to find out could be to file a
bug and see the response.

But I would be surprised to see a full RedHat Enterprise
server installer duplicating this problem, especially as
it needs to support IBM Power and mainframe machines.
