[Gllug] Graphics card recommendations wanted

Maybe, maybe not.
My finding with the 5800 card, which is very, very recent, is that you
have to download the Nividia driver package from their site and
install by hand. If you rely on the package in the repositories, it is
one or two versions out of date, and the driver does not recognise
that card. Just passing on some hard-won experience (read two days of
rebooting and swearing).

Regarding upgrading in general, yes do upgrade. I find OpenSUSE 11.1 very good,
and I don't regret upgrading my home machine. At work, I had to go
with this also, as SLES wouldn't install on the workstation I was
trialling - it needed a very recent Marvell SATA driver.
