Ugly, sure. Useful, hell yes.

Omnigraffle is a polished turd (and we thought it was impossible).

I never got on with omnigraffle, but with Dia I get the most useful
feature ever - to link ER lines to UML block members. I like to have an ER
diagram that has table fields in it.
