Relying rather on memory, but back in the distant mists of time I went
to the original launch in Geneva (or was it Zurich?) of what was then
called "Microsoft OS/2 LAN Manager".  I still have the t-shirt and
holdall to prove it.

At the time they were very much pitching against Novell and made a lot
of how their entirely new protocol would outperform Netware.  As far as
I recall, it was portrayed as a joint development between IBM and
Microsoft, but the actual talks seemed to suggest it was primarily a
Microsoft development.

I just like having something with "Microsoft OS/2" printed on it.
