Yes, provided you have a 64-bit capable processor.  Intel did have a stab
at their own 64 bit architecture (ia64) but AFAIK it's been pretty much
abandoned.  They then licensed (am I remembering this right?) AMD's 64-bit
extensions and used that to produce x86-compatible processors with 64-bit
capabilities.  IIRC, Intel's own original 64 bit processors (Itanium?) were
not x86 compatible.
