Oh, stick C-space in front of that first to select rather than just move. To
copy the selection afterwards, C-w C-y (or Apple-C in Aquamacs Emacs). Yes,
there are numeric prefixes available, but it doesn't save keypresses until 5
in that example.

In bog standard GNU Emacs, there's no "copy" as such, you do a kill then
yank. If you want it as a single command, just bind it to a handy spare key
(as the Aquamacs developers did.)
