Hello,
Are you trying to use the same allocated IP address for two pieces of
equipment? You may be able to do that, but not at the same time, and the
other end of the link may need a connection break for a relatively long time
to forget the previous MAC address.
You may be able to put a cable modem into bridge mode, when it would use
a link local address on each side of the modem, but it could only pass the
allocated IP address on to a single device, using just one local interface,
regardless of the number of local connections to its output switch, even if
it has wireless plus a four port switch.
