[Gllug] xampp error

Hi,
 I have downloaded XAMPP to my desktop but get this error:

Ubuntu-desktop:~$ sudo tar xvfz xampp-linux-1.7.2.tar.gz -C /opt
tar: xampp-linux-1.7.2.tar.gz: Cannot open: No such file or directory
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Exiting with failure status due to previous errors
co at co-AMD-Ubuntu-desktop:~$

It says 'No such file or directory' but it is there - and the file is
called xampp-linux-1.7.2.tar.gz

What is going wrong?
