LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE OPTS FOR LINUX
<http://blogs.computerworld.com/14876/london_stock_exchange_dumps_windows_for_linux>

The London Stock Exchange has decided to abandon its Microsoft
.NET-based trading system, TradElect, in favour of a Linux solution. As
well as adopting the Linux package from MillenniumIT, the LSE is
purchasing the company for £18 million. LSE said it would save at least
£10 million in transaction costs per year, improving reliability,
efficiency and reaching lower transaction speeds of 0.4 ms, compared to
.NET's 2.7 ms.

Oh how I laughed... it doesn't seem that long since the LSE was the
jewel in it's fud crown... in fact they still haven't had the good sense
to slip this into the memory hole!...
