If you have a large amount of data which needs to be consistent, a
filesystem is the wrong mechanism in the first place.  The designers of
the systems which use the data need first to define their data model and
then to design a storage system which matches its needs.  Filesystem
semantics are almost always inappropriate - overdesigned in some areas
and insufficiently flexible in most others.
