   One of the close relatives of the countdown chip is called Microsoft. If
consumers knew that their prize posessions might be useful for longer they
might be prepared to spend more wisely and care more for them. At present
the replacement time probably about matches the time between cooler dust
clogs. Air filters are sometimes fitted, but then forgotten because they are
out of sight.
