Errr... no. Most LCDs use a lower refresh rate than CRTs.

That one's very subjective. Certainly I find the opposite, but I agree
that I seem to be in the minority there. The only time I've had eye
strain with CRTs is when the refresh rate has been too low, a problem
which is easily solved.
