[Gllug] Imaging a whole drive

Hi All,

I just want to check I'm right here - I want to take an image of a laptop 
hard-drive. it has two partitions on it. I can do:

dd bs=4096 if=/dev/sda of=laptop-hd.img

and then, if necessary I can:

dd bs=4096 if=laptop-hd.img of=/dev/sda

to get back to the start. Have I missed something? Am I setting myself up to 
fall off a cliff?
