Hello,

Just a reminder that the BCS Open Source Specialist Group and BT are
organising a conference on Thursday on Open Source in
Telecommunications. This is an all day event and is free to attend,
will be held at the BCS offices in Covent Garden, lunch will be
provided and all are welcome (no requirement to be a BCS member).

For further information, the agenda and to register see:

Somewhat annoyingly I'm stranded in San Francisco and won't be able to
make it along myself. Although by a weird twist of fate I caught a
presentation from David A. Burgess of the OpenBTS project, at the
Emerging Communications Conference that is currently on out here, on
experiences using OpenBTS to set up a low cost GSM network on the
South Pacific island of Niue. Tim Panton was also involved in this
effort and will be speaking on Thursday. It's pretty impressive stuff!

Cheers,

Andrew
